This past weekend I went hiking with some friends of mine on the north side of Mt Rainier, running along the Carbon Glacier to Mystic Lake. It was beautiful. Amazing. Majestic. After a break I lost my camera, which I thought fell out of my pack as I put it on. I realized it was gone 20 minutes later in the hike, and understood at that point that to get the camera would mean we would hike longer in the dark (on our return) than I deemed wise; our trip was worth more than a camera anyway. And wow, it was beautiful to see Mt Rainier on such a cloudless day, beyond a great mountain meadow.

I said to myself, "Se la Vie" rather than worry about the loss of it, and now thank God for the ability to do so. I told Him I'd leave it in His hands, and if He wanted to return it, I would be grateful and use it to please Him.

a guy found my camera on his hike down the wonderland trail, and called kits cameras with the receipt I had in the camera case- they called me, I called him, and he talked a coworker of his into delivering the camera to me tonight upon his commute home from work. talk about a God that loves to help us in our mistakes. I love my God. Thanks!
